Dragon Kick

"It's not what you're going to take from martial arts, it's what you have to give martial arts."
-Saulo Ribeiro

In one of my yesterdays I decided to try my hand at coming up with techniques. In my opinion, this is the best I have thought of.

It combines three elements, three different versions of side-kick methods to create a kick which in one step can have you move two-three body lengths, or roughly ten to fifteen feet. It's excellent because it vastly extends your range. It utilizes the 'burst' which Krav Maga employs, as well as drawing from both Shotokan and Chung Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do techniques. I invented it back in 2011.

Here is a video I made about a year ago of how to do the dragon kick;

The first is to do a side kick in the Shotokan and CDK method, raising the knee, chambering toward the shoulder and then extending.
The second is to do a step side kick, where your back leg crosses the front, and using body momentum you launch yourself forward
The third principle of the kick is once you have stepped, as you extend, you use the body's momentum to carry you further, sliding the back leg against the ground.
This is probably one of the strongest kicks I have come across on its own. Just doing the technique itself without adding power creates a huge amount of energy, and when you actually apply your body weight to hit, and increase the force allocated it's pretty solid all around.
Here is a video of someone doing it for their first time.
